Turning Points

1. If you have pain, you deserve to heal.
2. If you have anger or guilt from the past, you deserve to heal.
3. You have the opportunity to turn now.
4. You deserve to begin rebuilding your life in a new direction.
5. Recovery isn't changing who you are. It is letting go of who you are not.

6. If you are protecting yourself from past pain in ways that are causing you even more pain in the present, you deserve to heal.
7. The pain you feel is not only from the past but also from the past-driven present.
8. You are not your pain.
9. Your pain is your responsibility.
10. What you do about your pain is a choice you make

11. To say "I did not learn this very basic skill and I need to know how" is a turning point.
12. By recognizing you are in the process of recovery, you are beginning to shine your own light.
13. You are not "in control".
14. It is in the acceptance of all that was and is that your spirit becomes whole.
15. I do not depend on others in order to accept myself.

16. When people leave (abandon) me, it is not a judgment of my worth.
17. Intimacy is about being close. Intimacy is trusting another with whom you are without fear of rejection.
18. A turning point will come when you can identify a safe way to share the secret.
19. The awareness that now you can choose to be free from the secret is a turning point.
20. The awareness that we have adopted a protective role to survive is a turning point.

21. The awareness that we longer need that role to survive is a turning point.
22. The turning point in your relationships is the awareness that your growth is not about getting other people to change.
23. You were powerless in the past, but you are not powerless in the present.
24. God is always present in your heart. Look within.
25. Learning to love yourself does not mean you love others less. Instead, it frees you to love them more.
